"While working on a project for Siemens, Turkey I (an American) sat in a meeting with two Spaniards and Turkish men, and really saw international business at work. The meeting lasted four hours, with parts of the discussion in Spanish, Turkish, English and German. We discussed all aspects of the project on which we were working. It was phenomenal! It's difficult to explain, but at that moment, in that room, it hit me like a ton of bricks how beneficial this program is."
Sarah Walsh, Siemens Elasa, Madrid
"I was the only English speaking person in the office. My translation abilities were crucial for upcoming meetings with the German managers in Stuttgart. I ended up being very happy with the job and made significant contributions before I left like launching a new program to analyze sales data. The people at my job were fantastic. I made some very good friendships through work and would often go out in the city, practice my Spanish and eat at the local cafes with many of my co-workers.”
Brian Cleary, DaimlerChrysler, Madrid
“I started work in Paris in January and was so excited to be around these expert fashion trend forecasters. Peclers is known the world over for its ability to see the up and coming fashion trends for men, women and children. Each season Peclers publishes 17 trend books that are essential and provocative starters for the creative processes in the fashion industry. Having some influence on such well-respected publications that are read and used around the world was fantastic and elating. I did several translations as well as brainstorming for titles. It was a very hands-on experience and very ‘on your toes' with creativity.”
