At Northeastern University, Professor Lieb established both the undergraduate (1970) and graduate programs (1995) in Supply Chain Management within the College of Business. In addition, he has written more than fifty articles which have appeared in leading journals in the fields of supply chain management, logistics, and transportation.

The first surveys executives in Fortune 500 companies that use such services; the second surveys the CEOs of the 20 largest companies that sell such logistics services in North America. The third and fourth studies focus on the CEOs of many of the largest companies selling logistics services in Europe and Asia. These studies attract considerable national and international attention and have been cited in such publications as The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, The Journal of Commerce, American Shipper, the Financial Times, and Logistics Management.
