Research and Teaching Interests

Professor Pichler’s research interests are in the area of initial public offerings, mechanism design for security issuance, interaction between product markets and financial markets, and applied contract theory. Her teaching interests include introductory finance, corporate finance, investments, and game theory modeling for financial markets.

Industry and Academic Experience

Professor Pichler has served as associate professor of finance at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna, Austria. She has also taught at several other universities, including Brown University, MIT’s Sloan School of Management, Boston College’s Carroll School of Management and the University of Maryland. She has worked at the Strategic Decisions Group as an associate management consultant. She was also a teacher in Ghana, as a member of the Peace Corps.
