Research and Teaching Interests

Professor Croke returned to the College of Business faculty after a 30 year hiatus, having spent this time full time in management consulting. His teaching and research interest are focused on the development of managerial and leadership competency models. He also is focused on the development of management and leadership skill development methodologies that lead to sustainable competency in individual managers/leaders.

Industry and Academic Experience

Professor Croke spent over 35 years in management consulting with a number of large, global firms: CAPGemini, Harbridge House, The Hay Group’s Strategic Management Associates, KPMG’s predecessor firm Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co., and Personnel Decisions International. His consulting work has two main foci: (1) helping leadership manage large scale organizational transformation by gaining alignment around new visions and strategies, changed organizational approaches/structures, and post-merger integration; and, (2) providing leadership skill assessment and coaching to leaders and leadership teams. More recently, he is a co-founder of Deep Customer Connections, LLC . . . a firm focused on bringing the “voice of the customer” to domestic Property and Casualty carriers. Earlier in his career, Professor Croke held tenured Associate Professor positions at Northeastern’s College of Business Administration and at U-Mass Boston’s College of Management. For the past five years he has been an adjunct professor at Dublin City University (Ireland); during his doctoral studies, he was an adjunct professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
