    Language Requirement

Students will be required to prove proficiency in a second language by passing an examination or participating in an intensive summer language program. The goal of the proficiency examination is not fluency. Students may show proficiency in a second language in a number of ways:

    • Non-native English speakers who have earned their first degree in the U.S. or an institution where English is the language of instruction
    • A major or minor in a foreign language (3.0 GPA minimum)
    • Students who are undergraduate business minors may study a second language prior to enrollment in MSIB.
    • Students may choose a program of their choice with the approval of the Director of the MSIB Program. Options include (but are not limited to) the Boston Language Institute or Berlitz.
    • Students may also use the summer following the MSIB program to satisfy the language requirement. Please note that this option would postpone graduation from May to August.
