The College of Business Administration faculty are actively engaged in knowledge creation that advances the practice and theory of management. We strive for excellence in research with an emphasis on contemporary business fundamentals and specialized, cutting-edge topics. With a large, highly published faculty, we recognize the importance of continued investments that strengthen the faculty and its intellectual activity through strategic recruiting, supporting research endeavors, and promoting the continuing development of the faculty.
The research and professional activities of our faculty are important to our growing visibility both nationally and internationally. Support of research takes many forms including: investment in business databases, analytical software, and on-line survey tools, travel funds, student assistants, and extensive contacts with the corporate community (particularly due to our world-renowned coop and corporate residency programs). Conference travel funds, to aid faculty in research review & dissemination and establishing important academic and business networks also are provided. We also have hosted and co-sponsored a number of high profile conferences, covering such topics as international entrepreneurship, family businesses, mobile marketing, governance, and emerging markets. Further support for research can be in the form of compensated summer release, research fellowships, and endowed professorships [listed below].
Beyond support for faculty research, we also encourage faculty to take leadership positions in professional organizations that are consistent with our mission and strategic thrusts. We also help support faculty serving in a journal editorial capacity.
We continue to seek additional ways to further promote the professional development of our faculty and provide a venue for greater visibility of our faculty and the College.
